Why train in group?

My first audience is the people who follow the same training with me.
In the field of education, we often speak of cooperative pedagogy, and in companies of collective intelligence and collaborative work. Some cultures, such as Canada's, are distinguished by their more collaborative and consensual approach. This can sometimes lead to frustration in cultures, such as France, where consensus is less valued, due to a stronger sense of hierarchy. See Erin Meyer's excellent read The culture map.
But what about group training? Is it a question of culture or can we identify undeniable advantages?
When putting together a group for a workshop or training course, our goal is that each participant benefits not only from our expertise, but also from everyone's input. This process promotes:
✅ Enrichment of cognitive strategies: Each person, depending on their personality, has developed their own cognitive strategies, specific techniques for accomplishing tasks. Sharing them allows us to discover new approaches.
✅ Better self-knowledge: Reflection on one's way of learning and its mechanisms promotes the development of metacognitive strategies.
✅ The development of a unique collective intelligence: Each group creates a particular dynamic, the foundation of a successful cohesion experience.
✅ Peer support: Encouragement, constructive and benevolent feedback encourage everyone to progress and dare to take the plunge!
That's why we always look forward to experiencing these group training moments, whether in a workshop lasting a few hours or on a course lasting several weeks.
🤩 We are also pleased to announce that we have just started a new cohort with Formation continue - Université de l'Ontario français, focused on public speaking. The Speech 🎤 Ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 19, in the amphitheater of the University. If you're in Toronto, save the date & stay tuned!
